An Italian Christmas

I've realised I haven't shared my cruise with you all...

I went on an Italian Cruise - the Costa Deliziosa for Christmas - 6 days around the Italian coastline = pure bliss!

Our first port of call was Naples. I've been here before and I must admit, it was nothing like I remembered it. I remember it being rather lovely with a quaint square of bars and restaurants...but we couldn't find it anywhere and eventually came to the conclusion that it had been dug up and was now a construction site. Nevertheless, we had a nice wander round, I had a cup of herbal tea and bought some pesto for my boyfriend and I to share when back home.

Our second destination was Malta and I loved it!! This was by far the best place we visited. My Great-Grandfather was from Malta and mum and I felt connected to the island. It was just so beautiful, the people were amazing, it was full of history...I want to return one day!! And...it was so warm we didn't have to wear coats and it was Christmas Eve!!

On Boxing Day we visited Sardinia; this has been a place I've always wanted to go and I'm glad I have. I don't know if I would return, although the place was lovely and interesting. Although I did eat the World's Greatest Risotto - seafood risotto accompanied with lots of red wine and bread..omnomnom!!!

Our final port of call was Corsica, the birthplace of Napoleon. This place was beautiful!! Lots of greenery and the perfect place to relax. A lot of French people have holiday homes here and I could see why, it was glorious and the food was delicious!!!

I feel very lucky to have gone on 3 holidays last year and visited 6 different countries. I think I have the travel bug...I wonder home many holidays I can fit in this year? We already have 2 on the cards :)
