My flat mate, Laura, and I are already having nervous breakdowns about the mass amount of work that comes with final year. May we stress that we are accustomed to a high level of work and pressure as we spent our year placement at Matrix Chambers and HP, respectively. However, no-one told us how hard final year was!! Degrees in Law and Business are not easy.
So we composed a list of scenarios under the title 'You know you're a final year student when...'
1) the highlight of your day is going to the gym;
2) making a brew is classified as a 'break';
3) you don't have time for Facebook;
4) you get excited when you can fit 6 pages of reading onto one and a half pages if you write small;
5) you have a great feeling of satisfaction when finishing a chapter...
6) ...and destroyed when you realise you have 6 more;
7 ) you brag about how organised your files are;
8) highlighting your work is 'fun' and 'pretty';
9) you simply do not have time for Liquid or Academy;
10) you spend your life in the library;
11) sending voice mails to one another is hilarious;
12) when procrastinating becomes thinking up essay structures instead of reading;
13) you cannot live without your diary;
14) tidying your room becomes a fun alternative to reading;
15) your dreams consist of the content of your text books;
16) Google becomes overused for 'define...'
17) weekends are not for relaxation but for dissertations;
18) you start to panic that your CV doesn't include enough university extra-curricular activities and join every society you can;
19) you start to consider post-graduate courses;
20) you realise you can't wait to graduate to work full time.
I'm sure the list will grow as the year continues. But for now, Happy Studying!
I think I told you how hard it is last year : P Love the list though - it's so true! xxx
