Tuesday

I will no longer complain about 9 o'clock lectures!

With the beginning of term lingering, I ponder what the next year holds in store for me. Naturally as a student, I dread those early morning starts. A look over the timetable tells me I have 9 o'clock lectures on Monday and Friday as well as an 8 o'clock start on campus for work on Tuesdays.

I was lucky enough to spend my year placement at Matrix Chambers in Central London and I absolutely loved it! The people were great and the work was very interesting. However, to get to work for 9 o'clock, I had to wake extremely early - a time that no student has ever heard of.

In previous years, the 9 o'clock lectures and seminars have been a bit of a nightmare. I would usually end up running to them and then sit sweating and panting as the class commenced.  My 'new academic year' resolution is to continue to wake at a reasonably early time, go for a run and then start studying for the day; I will let you all know how successful this resolution has been come September.

I'm lucky with my timetable this year, full days on Mondays and Fridays with the rest of the week 'off' for independent study. I have already started making a 'study plan' with my good friend and fellow law student, Avita. We plan to sit in the library with flasks of tea (I can't study without a good cuppa) on a daily basis and help each other in our studies.

After a year of working full time and the early morning wake up calls, a 9 o'clock lecture is now a lie-in!
